That last time I was able to open it was 4 days ago. I looked at the event log and found two entries of conern. One entry says: "No user profile available to service the request." I see another entry that says: "Cannot open database "SharePoint_Config" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user wsi\sps_sqlsvc.

there is no sign of any WSS_* databases even though there clearly are databases for the root site collection when I view in Central admin. is this (i.e. not being able to view content databases via SSMS ) typical for standalone installs on windows 7 ? cheers, Counie SharePoint Farmer in training

I can open some tables, other talbe cant be opened and the message: The ms engine could not find the object, make sure it exists or you spell its name and path name correctly. If 'objectXY' is not a local object contact the server admin or check your networkcnnection.

Apr 18, 2014 · The algorithm engine we’re using looks at everything as text. So it doesn’t know any special rules that go along with numbers (for example, it’s OK to drop leading zeros when dealing with numbers, but not so much when you’re dealing with Postal Codes or other IDs).

You can always use the simple recovery model, but you will not be able to restore to a point in time of the failure, only to the time of the last backup.. Simple is great for DEV...
